Education scholarships for Tacloban students

-

DIWA Learning Systems’ 30&75 Education Scholarship Program is helping three high school graduates in Tacloban City pursue Bachelor of Science in Education degrees.

Cleo Thea Ong, Julia Trishia Cordial and Salem Grace Cello were high school graduates of St. Therese Educational Foundation, one of the many schools badly damaged by “Yolanda” in Eastern Visayas.

Aside from the scholarships at First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (Faith) in Tanauan, Batangas, the grantees will also receive allowances for travel and dormitory lodging expenses.

Diwa has also granted scholarships to 10 other students from different parts of the country.

These scholars are Love Ortega from Holy Infant Academy, Alan Dean Lalog from Liceo de Pila, Joshua Olgado and Meljohn Layag from Pola Catholic School, Roderick Lorenzo from San Vicente Institute, Karen Quinio and Zyrine Hindap from St. Joseph Academy and Bevejoy Cepe, Jerico Cepe and Nikka Maravilla from Universidad de Santa Isabel-Pili campus.

The 30&75 Education Scholarship Program was launched to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Diwa, one of the country’s leading providers of print and digital educational resources. It also marks the 75th anniversary of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP).

This is the program’s second batch of scholars. It had 20 scholars last year.

This year, the scholarship program allotted scholarships for students from Eastern Visayas as part of Tulong Para sa Bayan, a project of Bato Balani Foundation, Diwa’s social development arm, with CEAP support, for Yolanda-devastated areas.
