Outstanding teachers in Filipino to be honored
THE KOMISYON sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) is launching this year the Gawad Ulirang Guro sa Filipino (Outstanding Teachers in Filipino award).
Ulirang Guro sa Filipino awardees will receive medals and certificates of appreciation from KWF on Aug. 19. Deadline for submission of nominations is July 4.
The awards will honor teachers who exemplify excellence, creativity and dedication in propagating and promoting the Filipino language and culture in their communities. They are in line with KWF’s mission to encourage and propagate the use of the Filipino language through incentives, grants and awards.
A nominee should have: proper license (Licensure Examination Test/Professional Regulation Commission); full-time and permanent status; minimum of three years in service as a teacher of Filipino or any related discipline using Filipino, with a minimum rating of Very Satisfactory; contributed to the propagation of Filipino and values the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Philippines, received recognition and awards (optional) and recommendation from his/her immediate supervisor.
Schools may submit more than one nomination. The nomination should be placed in a long brown envelope together with the nomination form, recommendation of immediate supervisor and folio of proof for recognition, including nominee’s awards, publications, etc.
Nominations should be sent to Lupon sa Ulirang Guro sa Filipino 2014, Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, 2/F Watson Building, JP Laurel St., San Miguel, Manila.
