NCCA hosts Golden Beeswax exhibit by Casus
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) holds "Golden Beeswax," an exhibit by renowned architect Jesus Guevara Casus, at the NCCA Gallery from June 8 - 21, 2015.
Golden Beeswax features 32 pieces of vibrantly colored encaustic paintings. Casus employed acrylic paint and car paint mixed with beeswax to engender vividly colored pigments against wood.
Though the use of beeswax on paintings dates back to the Greeks and Egyptians of the 1st and 2nd centuries BCE, Casus emphasized that this is the first time that beeswax will be used for paintings in abstract form.
As an architect, Jesus Guevara Casus finished large scale development projects specializing in all types of housing through the help of groups composed of architects, lawyers, engineers, financial experts, doctors (for the design of hospitals, retirement village nursing care) and a host of marketing experts. He has also authored several books on architecture and founded the Casus, Medialdea, Siloe Corporation.
Golden Beeswax opens on June 8, 4:00 PM at the NCCA Lobby. The exhibit will run until June 21, 2015. NCCA Gallery is open on weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM. Weekend visits are prearranged. NCCA Gallery is located at the ground floor of the NCCA Building, 633 Gen. Luna St., Intramuros, Manila.
