Comfy, enviable lifestyle awaits U-Belt populace at Vista Recto
AMELTING POT of brilliant minds and creative genuises.
This, in essence, is what best describes the thickly populated University Belt of Metro Manila, host to some of the country’s oldest educational institutions and highly regarded universities and colleges.
Spanning across the San Miguel district, and the nearby Sampaloc, Quiapo, and Sta. Cruz areas in Manila, the “U-Belt,” as it is nicknamed, covers close to 30 of the country’s top tertiary schools that would often see thousands of students and members of the academe plowing through its crowded streets on a daily basis.
And this number is seen further growing as the student population is expected to increase by about 7-8 percent yearly. This growth rate, however, raises another concern among the university populace: adequate housing requirements.
“Vista Residences Inc. (VRI) is very much aware of the challenges and hardships that both the student body and the members of the academe go through every single day. Thus, we felt the need to create something that could somehow ease the burden and make the lives of these people a little bit more comfortable if not utterly enjoyable, and that is the University Series,” explained VRI Division Head Elizabeth M. Kalaw.
VRI, the condominium arm of premier property developer Vista Land, created the “University Series” which refer to vertical villages designed specifically to cater to the requirements of students and teachers. These projects are located in areas with a dense concentration of colleges and universities.
Better living options
A highly lucrative and practical investment, the “University Series” projects cater specifically to students seeking for that ideal second home as they complete their education, or for buyers who acquire the units either for the use of their own children or as a possible income generating invest-ment by having their units rented out.
“We are giving the students better living options. Since these developments will be built closer to schools, students will be spared from the hassle of commuting to and from their homes, thus giving them more time to study and participate in various school activities. The locations of the Vista Residences university condominiums will likewise allow student-residents to enjoy and make their campus lives far more comfortable, meaningful and memorable,” Kalaw said.
Included in the University Series portfolio of developments is the 36storey Vista Recto, which will rise near the Far Eastern University, University of the East, University of Manila, Manuel L. Quezon University and Philippine School of Business Administration. It will also be within easy reach of San Sebastian College and the University of Sto. Tomas.
An easy ride down C. M. Recto Avenue, future residents at the Vista Recto will likewise be near Centro Escolar University, La Consolacion College, San Beda College, Sta. Rita College, and College of the Holy Spirit.
This means that Vista Recto’s residents have access to the malls, markets, convenience stores, hospitals, and places of worship found within the famed San Miguel district, Quezon Boulevard, J.P. Laurel and the Quiapo district.
Features, amenities
Vista Recto—like all the towers in VRI’s University Series—will be meticulously designed based on the lifestyle of the residents, whose lives revolve around various learning institutions. These individuals’ study needs and everyday necessities such as food, laundry and socializing were just some of the key aspects that were considered when the university series condominiums were being designed.
Another key concern among homebuyers that was given absolute attention were safety and security.
Vista Residences assures future homeowners, parents in particular, that the measures they have put in place in all their projects are the kind that parents would want for their children.
Each of the Vista Residences developments, for instance, are and would be equipped with a guarded reception area and parking, smoke and fire alarms, sprinkler systems, generators and CCTV systems in most of the common areas. The vertical residences of the University Series also offer facilities both typical to the Vista Residences condominiums as well as those especially designed for academic life.
For instance, the amenities designed into the University Series’ towers were inspired by the Google offices. Each university tower has a fitness center that promotes recreational sports; a swimming pool; a roof deck; and multi-purpose function rooms for hosting parties, other social events, and school meetings or study groups.
Interesting to note would be Vista Residences’ use of solar panels in the design of the University Series in an effort to decrease the company’s carbon footprint.
Indeed, the University Series can be considered a wise and practical investment, as they are all located within the Metro’s key commercial and business centers, allowing access not just to schools and universities but also to the main places of work and entertainment, as well as to transportation hubs allowing for easy movement.
The projects’ unit size offerings, affordability, and locations also make the University Series developments the perfect home for new families, yuppies, and those in need of a “halfway home.”
At present, Vista Residences has four standing university projects namely Crown Tower University Belt which was launched in 2005; Vista 309 Katipunan, and Vista Taft, which were both launched in 2011; and 878 España, in 2012.
All units in these four developments have already been sold out, testifying to their ideal locations, the well-thought out designs and facilities, the quality of the built towers, and how well these are able to address the needs of the academe.
Owing to the success of these four properties, Vista Residences has launched five more that are just as strategically located near universities within Metro Manila and key provincial destinations namely: Vista GL Taft; Vista Heights in Legarda; Vista Brenthill in Baguio; Vista Katipunan, which is its second project in Quezon City and just recently, Vista Recto.
