A weekend of delicious surprises

Oishi and its brand ambassadors throw another fun party with its Snacktacular 2015

ONE OF the classic arcade games that everyone gets excited and frustrated over is the claw crane machine. You either go home with a stuffed toy or nothing.

But, what if you had the opportunity to play the part of the claw crane itself? That—and a whole lot more—is what this year’s Oishi Snacktacular is all about.

“Oishi has always been about creating ‘O, Wow!’ moments, so that’s what we aimed for,” says the brand’s assistant marketing manager Cherie Gaw.

After the success of last year’s event, the much-loved snack brand made things bigger and better at this year’s event held at the TriNoma Activity Center, adding new booths and activities, and introducing the newest member of Team O.

“I was really looking forward to hosting this year’s Snacktacular with the help of Elmo (Magalona) and Slater (Young),” says Ramon Bautista. “Last year, nag- enjoy tala

ga kami. We got to see Oishi lovers get creative with designing their own snacks. And this year, hindi talaga nagpatalo ang Oishi, making their second Snacktacular even better, especially since may bago kaming Team Omember!”

All kinds of fun

Upon arriving at the venue, I immediately saw the giant Snack Catcher towering over the middle of the activity center. But since there was long queue, I needed something to munch on while waiting for my turn. I headed to the Make Your Own Snack area.

I picked from a selection of Oishi chips and chose from different flavors, such as cheese, barbecue and nori. As soon as my snack creation was ready, I got to personalize my very own bag.

Then it was off to the Slush C+ booth to grab a cool Smart C+ slushie to match my little snack. “Ang favorite ko talaga ’yung Smart C+ lemon slush,” says PBB winner and Team Omember Slater.

I then lined up for the Oishi Snack Catcher, feeling as excited as I would be at a theme park. When my turn came, I was strapped into the harness and dipped into a pool of Oishi snacks just like a reallife claw crane machine. I followed Ramon’s trick of using both my arms and my legs, and that turned out to be quite successful.

Team O member Kathryn Bernardo felt the same excitement for this new addition to the Snacktacular experience: “I really liked the claw machine because I wanted to win the cute stuffed toys and candies!”

By the time all my snacks had to be col- lected, I needed to cool off. Proceeding to the O-Twirl booth, I was able to try softserve ice cream made with Oishi Choco Chug, and topped with different savory and sweet toppings like Oishi Pillows, Wafu Leche Flan, Gourmet Picks Potato Chips and Marty’s Baconette Strips.

Before going to the last booth, I dropped by the Pack and Pose booth to get a quick photo inside a giant bag of Oishi Prawn Crackers. Who doesn’t love a cool Instagram-worthy shot?

Completing my tour of all the Snacktacular activities was the Snack Shack. With a two-foot Oishi giant pack and 60 seconds on the clock, I had to run around and fill my bag with as many snacks and beverages as I could. I first filled the bottom with bottles of Smart C+, then piled on my favorite snacks. I now have enough Oishi products to last me a month or more.

And then there were six

Along with Team O members Daniel Padilla, Kathryn, Elmo, Slater and Ramon, Oishi delivered yet another fun-filled event.

The excitement did not stop there, however, as Oishi welcomed Alex Gonzaga, its newest endorser for Crispy Patata, to its roster of stars. With her wit, charm and quirkiness, Alex exemplifies the exciting personality of the brand.

“Sobrang saya ko talaga when Oishi asked me to be a part of the team, kasi love

ko talaga ’yung personality nila at feel ko we get along so well,” says Alex.

Oishi has proven that it really is the gift that keeps on giving. Because of that, we’re on the edge of our seats waiting for what Oishi has in store for us in the days to come.
