Cathy Yap-Yang

Award-winning broadcast journalist Cathy Yap-Yang is returning to where it all began for her—the Kapamilya network, via ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel. Starting Sept. 1, Yang will host “Market Edge with Cathy Yang,” and “Business Nightly,” which airs after “The World Tonight.”

In the late ’90s, Yang left the country to anchor for Bloomberg TV Asia-Pacific in Tokyo and Hong Kong, and later worked for CCTV (China Central TV) in Hong Kong. She was cited as the best news anchor in Asia at the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Asian TV Awards.

21st year

Power Mac Center is celebratin­g its 21st year in the Apple business with the opening of its very own black box theater, Power Mac Center Spotlight, on Aug. 26 at Circuit Lane, Circuit Makati. The new performanc­e venue is ideal for theater, music and dance shows, workshops and launches.

Performing at the launch are the Manila Symphony Orchestra, Urban Dub, Franco and the cast of the “Chuva Choo Choo” musical, featuring songs by Vehnee Saturno.
