Invisible children

- By Teresa R. Tunay, OCDS

AN ISSUE involving another form of “child abuse” is currently burning in the United States: the “sale of baby parts.” It all began with the videos exposing the practice of aborting babies to harvest their organs and tissues (“fresh baby eyes, brains, liver” etc.) purportedly “for medical research” and moved center stage during the Republican Presidential Debates telecast live last Sept. 17. The videos were released by the anti-abortion Center for Medical Progress (CMP) and show executives from Planned Parenthood (the largest abortion provider in the USA) transacting business with potential buyers who are actually undercover agents. In the face of all the evidence, Planned Parenthood denies being involved in the illegal activity, which leaves us to conduct our own investigation into the matter.

Planned Parenthood which receives $528 million in taxpayer money annually for being responsible for 327,000 abortions every year—approximately 896 lives snuffed everyday, or onefourth of the total number of abortions done in the US daily—is in danger of being defunded by the US government. (For more information, or visit http://www.sba-list.org/suzy-b-blog/top12-reasons-defund-planned-parenthood-now to begin with). Reports from the CMP reveal that Planned Parenthood “receives $60 per tissue specimen” and has contracts with StemExpress that offers “payments per fetus determined in the clinic to be usable.” The CMP recommends that taxpayer funding be “reassigned to Federally Qualified Health Centers which provide more and comprehensive health services at locations outnumbering Planned Parenthood 20 to 1.”

It is an issue that merits everyone’s attention, since abortion is the direct fruit of a contraceptive mentality that promotes death instead of life. Fetuses are not merely “specimens” or “fresh and frozen baby parts”—they are human beings beginning their life in the womb. Receiving these invisible children is receiving our Lord Jesus and therefore the One who sent Him as well.
