12th Estilo De Vida Design Competition

CW Home Depot, a one-stop-shop for building, finishing and furnishing needs, has once again partnered with the Philippine Constructors Association and Philippine Institute of Interior Designers for the 12th Estilo De Vida Intercollegiate Interior Design Competition.

Estilo De Vida is an annual competition open to all interior design students that aims to showcase their innovativeness and creativity prowess.

This year’s theme is Millennium Living: Futuristic Transient Living; some 30 students from 8 reputable schools had competed to design the interiors of a container van with a functional space of 14. 66 square meters.

The main challenge for the participants is to create a modern design perspective with an integration of a unique Philippine cultural philosophy and an application of any of the 5R’s in chosen mate- rials. It is also expected to offer complete amenities from sleeping, sanitation to storage areas which will embody a transient living.

The top 3 winning designs will be exhibited at the World Trade Center’s outdoor grounds from October 8-11, 2015. They will compete for the final round of judging on October 9 by renowned trade professionals in the building and construction industry.

The students who will compete for the finals are Justine Durognan, Angelie Saberon and Poala Mae Madayag who are from Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Estilo De Vida is one of the event highlights of the biggest construction show in the country – PHILCONSTRUCT 2015 (26th Philippine International Construction Equipment & Building Materials Exhibition and Technology Forum) which will be held simultaneously at the SMX Convention Center.
