JCB and ICON partnership to pave the way for construction

-

CONSTRUCTION is integral in modernity, and with the Philippines’ steady economic growth, the construction industry is also on a rise. To capitalize on this, JCB, one of the UK’s leading brands in construction and mining with agricultural, logistics and disaster relief features, has recently partnered up with ICON Equipment Solutions Philippines Incorporated. ICON is now officially representing JCB as its new exclusive distributor for the Philippine market. In doing so, the partnership will be able to expand the growing construction and mining industries with stable and reliable brands.

JCB has always been a staple in the global construction industry. The UK-based company is one of the leading brands when it comes to construction equipment. It has 22 factories in 6 countries - US, UK, Brazil, China, India, and Germany. To add to that, JCB’s leading product, the backhoe loader, was in fact invented within the company. Even now, the backhoe loader has affixed itself as an integral part of the construction and agricultural industries.

JCB prides itself as a stable and reliable company and its products are a reflection of this. JCB’s products consist of American, European, Japanese parts that are tested to match international standards. JCBs are designed to achieve the lowest “Total Cost of Ownership” or “TOC” versus leading brands. TOC is essentially the overall cost to own an asset over a period of time and considers operating expense, acquisition and mechanical availability. Tests have shown JCB machines to be the most fuel efficient in its class versus leading competitors. Customers can save hundreds of thousands in fuel expenses by simply choosing a JCB; savings that go straight to the bottom line figures. The JCB Online Distributing System or JDS allows dealers to access componentry of pretty much any contemporary JCB. By simply entering the serial number, a few more clicks and our parts team can view every part that comprises your JCB machine. This makes part identification and supply become faster and easier. JCB and ICON are entering the market aggressively in pricing and retail options. A JCB would normally be priced at a premium but the two companies are positioning themselves competitively below the prices of Japanese models.

“Basically anything you need for heavy equipment, we pretty much have it,” claims ICON marketing director Christopher Imperial. A hefty claim, but also a substantial and valid one as ICON Equipment Solutions Philippines Incorporated is a veteran trading company when it comes to distribution for the construction and mining industry. JCB is already the third brand that ICON is currently representing; the other two being Iveco and Fiori. Similar to JCB, Iveco and Fiori are also European brands that ICON represents in the Philippine market with great success. Iveco is a truck, bus and light commercial vehicle manufacturer from Italy with factories in Italy, Spain, Germany and China, while Fiori is an Italian concrete equipment brand that is being used by various private corporations.

JCB is a proven world-class brand with a solid reputation for good products in the international market. And with ICON’s experience and expertise with delivering foreign brands to the Philippine market, the partnership will definitely be able to foster and expand our rapidly growing construction and mining industries.
