12th Estilo De Vida

AS ONE of the major attractions in the country’s No. 1 construction show, Estilo De Vida has become home to budding designers taking steps towards becoming part of the industry.

For its 12th year, Estilo De Vida focuses on a revolutionary home structure where cost and versatility is a priority. Themed “Millennium Living: Futuristic Transient Living”, over 50 students from Luzon and Visayas ( participating schools are: Eastern Visayas State University-Tacloban, St. Scholastica’s College, Philippine School of Interior Design, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Philippine Women’s University, University of the East, University of Northern Philippines-Vigan, University of San Agustin- Iloilo, University of San Carlos- Cebu, University of Saint Louis-Tuguegarao and University of Santo Tomas) joined and accepted the challenge of designing and transforming the interiors of a 20ft. container van into a modern transient space.

Top 3 design plates were chosen by the most prestigious names in the industry lead by the advisers of the competition IDr. Belen Morey and Ms. Ellen Chua together with the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers ( PIID) president Arch. James Jao, FL Ramos president IDr. Nina Ramos, First Balfour COO and president Mr. Anthony Fernandez, CW Home Depot managing director Mr. Ferdinand Co, and 11th EDV chairperson Ms. Tala Fernando-Ang.

Preliminary judging was made last September 9, 2015 at CW Home Depot - Makati and the results surprised everyone as the top three winners all came from the same university - the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, represented by Angelie Saberon, Paola Madayag and Justine Durognan.

All interior pieces - furniture, furnishings, home accents, appliances, etc. - will be provided by our generous sponsors including Pacific Paint ( Boysen) Philippines, Inc., and CW Home Depot.

This coming October 8, at the opening day of PHILCONSTRUCT, join us as we unveil the shipping container vans designed by these young talents; and on October 9, witness as the next champion is named.
