Philippine Infrastructure and PPP Roadshow in Hong Kong

The road show in Hong Kong showcased UK expertise in infrastructure and PPP in the region to both Philippine public and private sector stakeholders, which can be brought into the pipeline of Philippine projects. Hong Kong was chosen because many UK firms in Asia-Pacific have their regional headquarters there. This 2-day event was organized in partnership with the Philippine-British Business Council which included activities such as business seminar and one-to-one-meetings, networking receptions, site visits/tour to Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong International Airport.
UK Telecoms and Broadcast Mission

11 British companies came to Manila on October 15 and 16 to explore projects and partnerships in the vibrant telecommunica- tions and media sectors in the Philippines. The UK is a GREAT partner to beef up ICT capacity and improve services. These companies are able to provide telecommunication technologies and solutions that would help address the growing needs of the Philippine market, including IT-enabled industries, service sectors and the over 100 million mobile subscribers across the country. During their visit, the British firms met with government and private sector officials to learn more about the Philippine business environment and economy. They engaged with top executives from the ICT and broadcast industries, including prospective distributors and local business partners, government regulators, and communication project implementers.

The Great British Festival

This event builds on the previous two festivals that celebrated the best of British business and culture through the UK’s various pillars or areas of excellence such as fashion, food, music, film, theatre, business, shopping and sport. The event takes place at the open areas of the Bonifacio High Street where people can enjoy all the booths featuring British brands as well as displays and activities that showcase the many aspects of British lifestyle. Among the popular attractions are the Education Pavilion which promotes studying in the UK, and Britain in Miniature that features famous landmarks and pop culture icons. The festive atmosphere will be enhance by film showings, musical performances, fashion shows, cooking demos and contests that are open to the public.
