‘Shop global, help local’ at 49th Internatio­nal Bazaar

THE ONE-DAY only Internatio­nal Bazaar at the Philippine Internatio­nal Convention Center Forums on Nov. 29 will offer unique and authentic products from various places in the world from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

It is organized by the Internatio­nal Bazaar Foundation Inc. (IBF), Ladies of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Spouses of Heads of Mission (SHOM) and members of the diplomatic and consular corps.

Around 35 embassies and six consulates will showcase the best of their local goods while over 100 booths will sell Filipino products. A food court will sell authentic dishes from various countries.

Shoppers who purchase raffle tickets for P200 each will get a chance to win a Hyundai Eon car courtesy of HARI Foundation Inc. (Hyundai Asia Resources Inc.) through its president and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo and IBF. Other raffle items include airline tickets, kitchen appliances, and hotel weekend packages.

Proceeds will be donated to the IBF, which will use them to fund projects such as scholarshi­p grants for deserving students, financial support for the elderly, abused and abandoned children and victims of calamities.

IBF is headed by its chair Gretchen V. del Rosario, wife of Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario, together with president Sylvia J. Farolan, vice president Bambina Buenaventu­ra, secretary Rose B. Villamor, treasurer Alice T. Guerrero, executive director Nora C. Salazar, Margarita Tambunting, Marion Coscolluel­a, Fe Cabactulan, Consul General Fortune A. Ledesma.

SHOM officers are: Agnes Roscigno (Italy), president; Lizia Lu (Israel), vice president; Fehmina Mona Safdar (Pakistan), treasurer; Masita Ahmad (Malaysia), assistant treasurer; Ziki Ralte (India), membership coordinato­r; Toni Patchett (Chile), charity coordinato­r; and Sille Svenkerud Førner (Norway), communicat­ions.

Entrance tickets (P100 each) and raffle tickets are available at Tesoro’s outlets at Arnaiz Avenue in Makati; Mabini Street in Ermita, Manila and at 6/F Special Projects Unit, 2330 Department of Foreign Affairs Building, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.
