MANILA, Philippines - Toby's Youth Sports Foundation was awarded with the BEST Sports Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative during the first annual Asia Sports Industry Awards held last October 2, 2015 in New World Hotel Makati. The awards event recognized organizations contributing in the development of sports and the sporting community.
Organized by MMC Sportz and Sport360 and sanctioned by the Philippines Sports Commission and the Philippines Olympic Committee, the awards activity had a total of 168 entries coming from 12 Asian countries, and recognized achievements in 10 separate awards categories. Each submission was subjected to a rigid and transparent 3-step judging process, facilitated by an international panel of the region's leading industry experts and overseen by auditors in strict accordance with the international sports industry award rules.
Toby's Youth Sports Foundation (TYSF) was awarded with the BEST SPORTS CSR INITIATIVE through its 13-year CSR program called SPORTS FOR HOPE. This program aims to develop sports-driven values to the youth, such as sportsmanship, discipline & camaraderie, in order to contribute in achieving their overall character development. Children rehabilitating from drug abuse in Bahay Bagong Buhay Rehabilitation Center in Taguig Manila are the beneficiaries of Sports for Hope. The annual CSR program includes donation of sports equipment, inspirational talks through qualified resource persons, entertainment activities and sports clinics/games. During the program, the children are also given food and gifts usually composed of hygienic products, toiletries, beddings, shirts and slippers.
TYSF aims to rebuild the character of out-ofschool youth who suffered from drug abuse by encouraging them to play sports — true to its mission statement: "Help Kids Play".
