La Salle Zobel to open extension campus in school year 2016-17 in Cavite

-

DE LA SALLE Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) hopes to open by the start of academic year 2016-2017 an extension campus in Vermosa, Imus, Cavite province.

The extension campus is covered by a contract between DLSZ and Ayala Land Inc. (ALI).

The recent contract signing was attended by Br. Bernard S. Oca, FSC, DLSZ president; Br. Raymundo B. Suplido, DLSZ trustee; ALI president Bernard Vincent Dy and senior vice president Anna Ma. Margarita B. Dy.

The DLSZ-Vermosa campus is envisioned to be a trailblazer in Philippine education in technology-supported learning. It aims to provide a world-class, learner-centered environment to produce lifelong learners in a transformative and innovative learning environment.

The campus is expected to adopt green architecture for its facilities and structural designs. It will also have a church that will be open to the public for regular Sunday Masses.

The campus is part of DLSZ’s vision to make Lasallian education more accessible to students in southern Metro Manila.

With the adoption of the K-12 (Kindergarten to Grade 12) basic education program, the campus will offer different tracks and strands for senior high school: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), ABM (Accountancy, Business and Management) and HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences).

DLSZ is a member of De La Salle Philippines, a network of 17 Lasallian schools in the country.

Following the teachings of its founder, St. John Baptist de la Salle, DLSZ aims to foster not only academic excellence but also a person’s spiritual and moral maturity.

ALI donated the land and seed money for building construction in Vermosa, a sprawling 700-hectare mixed-use development, which will feature the Vermosa Sports and Lifestyle Complex offering world-class sports facilities and the country’s first Sports Science Laboratory.

The Vermosa Sports and Lifestyle Complex will serve as a training facility for DLSZ’s athletes who will represent the Philippines in local and international competitions.
