New attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland
HONG KONG Disneyland is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and to mark this milestone, a series of events and performances has been lined up, including the large-scale production musical “Mickey and the Wondrous Book,” which incorporates seven beloved Disney tales.
“Our Filipino talents, who are passionate about music and shows, are also playing important roles in this stage show and many of them joined us even before the park was opened 10 years ago,” David Lightbody, director for entertainment and costuming of Hong Kong Disneyland, said in a statement.
“We are proud to have our talented Filipino cast members Gian Magdangal and Raki Vega singing the 10th anniversary theme song ‘Happily Ever After’ in the park,” said Rony Fortich, musical director of Hong Kong Disneyland. “We are also thrilled to have celebrity Janella Salvador singing the song, both in English and Tagalog for the Philippine market.” The song and video starring Janella started airing in the Philippines this month.
As dusk falls on “the happiest place on Earth,” Sleeping Beauty Castle will glow with an all-new moving light projection show featuring characters from “Inside Out,” “Finding Nemo,” “Big Hero 6,” “Cars” and the upcoming release, “Finding Dory.”
Another showcase is Fairy Tale Forest in Fantasyland presented by Pandora. The display of music-box scenes includes “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Cinderella,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Tangled.”
