St. Paul Makati falls in early WVL upset

ST. PAUL College-Makati absorbed an early loss to Young Achievers’ School even as the other favorites started hot over the weekend in the 20th Women’s Volleyball League at Xavier gym.

Young Achievers stunned the 13Under Developmental Division’s defending champion St. Paul, 25-17, 2519, and joined School of the Holy Spirit- QC and St. Scholastica-Manila in the early Group B lead.

Also tabbing wins in the tournament sponsored by Milo were Colegio San Agustin-Makati and St. Pedro Poveda College in Group A. Other triumphant teams: 13-U Competitive— CSA-Makati, Escuela de Sophia of Caloocan City and King’s Montessori.

17-U Developmental Division: Group A—San Antonio de Padua, Sisters of Mount Carmel Catholic School and the Seed Montessori; Group B—Immaculate Heart of Mary College; (Group C) St. Raphaela Mary School and St. Theresa’s College; Group D—School of the Holy Spirit-QC and St. Scholastica-Manila.
