Noisy but empty

-

THE RULING of the Supreme Court declaring the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (Edca) between the Philippines and the United States constitutional carries with it a lot of promise. To be sure, for the Philippines, the Edca will boost its military—not to mention humanitarian and relief—capabilities. The Edca does not mean that the US military will be allowed to build permanent bases here, and neither would the Edca jeopardize Philippine sovereignty, contrary to what militant groups are claiming.

Bayan Muna is now back in the streets and it is questioning the wisdom of the Supreme Court in this decision. It is saying that the Edca violates Philippine sovereignty, but the truth is, Bayan Muna is the real traitor of the country as it is actively working to undermine our defenses against external threats. It looks like it does not want to improve our military’s capability which we really need in the face of China’s incursions into our territories.

We are also facing real threats of frequent calamities and disasters. Any help from any country for us to deal with these threats is most welcome. It would be foolhardy to refuse such assistance. But obviously, the leftists do not realize this, or are they just denying reality?

Oh, they are like empty tin cans, so noisy with their inanities while contributing nothing to improving the lives of Filipinos and our country’s development. All they do is sow chaos and confusion. Shame!
