Tri-Activ karting round 2 tomorrow Head Jr. tennis circuit starts in CDO Mar. 28

THE SECOND round of the 2016 Petron Tri Activ karting starts tomorrow at Carmona Racetrack.

Fast-rising Jarred Kim of Empire Racing Management Team hopes to score a repeat over CityKart’s Joaquin Garrido in their rivalry for the Mini-ROK XCS crown of the event sanctioned by the Automobile Associatio­n Philippine­s.

Kim, who has shown vast improvemen­t under the wings of coach Elson Carpio, topped the kickoff leg last month, crossing the finish line 0.141 of a second ahead of Garrido. Zach David took third place with Rap Rap Gutierrez and Iñigo Anton winding up fourth and fifth, respective­ly. THE 18th Head Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit, which will be held in 10 major cities nationwide, will start in Cagayan de Oro City on March 28.

The tournament, which has produced Filipino tennis stars like Jeson Patrombon and Francis Casey Alcantara, has made the grassroots program an advocacy to discover poten- tial talents.

The three-month tennis tournament led by Head and Chris Sports will feature both singles and doubles for different age categories.

After the CDO leg which ends April 1, the circuit will go to Davao (March 4 to 8) to close the Mindanao leg.

The Visayas leg will begin in Cebu on April 10 to 14. It will also go to Iloilo (April 16 to 20) and Bacolod (April 22 to 28). The Luzon leg will start in Naga (May 4 to 8) before proceeding to Baguio (May 11 to 16), La Union (May 18 to 22) and Olongapo (May 24 to 28).

The last stop of the circuit will be in Manila on May 30 to June 4.
