Nissan Almera wins 5-Year Cost to Own award

-

CALIFORNIA-based vehicle valuation and automotive research company Kelly Blue Book recently recognized the 2016 Nissan Almera (model name in the United States: Versa) as its Subcompact Car category winner in its fifth annual 5-Year Cost to Own Awards.

The award recognizes new vehicles with the lowest projected ownership costs within the initial five-year period. Factors taken into the equation include out-of-pocket expenses like fuel, insurance, state fees, financing, repairs and maintenance costs and vehicle depreciation (loss in value).

“New-car shoppers usually pay a lot of attention to how much a car will cost upfront; however, sometimes an even more expensive car on the front end can actually save you money during the first five years of ownership by having low total ownership costs,” said Dan Ingle, vice president of vehicle valuations, industry solutions and international for Kelley Blue Book.

In the Philippines, the new Almera features upgraded, high quality parts and technology that lengthens the intervals between services.

In addition, the cost of spare parts for the new Nissan Almera is also lower than before. This keeps maintenance costs down at 30 percent lower than other cars–the lowest of its class.

“We at Nissan Philippines are proud to say that the new Nissan Almera is the perfect partner for all new beginnings,” said Antonia Zara, NPI president and managing director.

“Engineered to run for longer than the average preventive maintenance schedule, the new Almera’s design quality translates to lower maintenance costs, making it the ideal vehicle that will transport you and your loved ones through many of life’s important milestones,” he added.

The new Almera is available in five variants. The new 1.2L base manual model clocks in at P630,000, while the 1.5L E with a manual transmission is at P726,000. The 1.5L E automatic variant is priced at P726, 000, and the 1.5L V automatic transmission is a notch up the gradewalk at P845, 000, while the range-topping 1.5 VL automatic plus model is pegged at P880, 000.

The new Almera comes in four colors, namely Brilliant Silver, Alpine White, Bluish Black, and Titanium Grey.
