- Tessa Prieto-Valdes

FROM ITS highly successful 20th installment, the annual Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition (Worldbex) returns this weekend with yet another impressively extensive presentation. Titled “Worldbex 2016: Uniting Strong Foundations,” this much-awaited trade fair is ongoing until tomorrow, March 20 at the World Trade Center Manila and the Philippine Trade Training Center.

With close to 500 booths by local and international participants, attendees will surely experience presentations of vast ranges of the latest product and service innovations in the market. Aside from that, a compelling selection of galleries, pavilions and live installations from the industry’s great minds will be showcased at the show.

The Worldbex LAB presents the top innovations from select companies including NxLED, a lighting company that specializes on all LED lighting and bulbs. In its brightly lit front-row booth at the main hall, NxLED displays its different products and features like dimmable lights without dimmer, Bluetooth bulbs and three colorchanging bulbs.

This year’s Interior Design Gallery beautifully showcases different vignettes by several icons of the trade including Johnny Hubilla, Ivy and Cynthia Almario, Chat Fores and myself.

For my home office space, Moss Manila Home’s Cyndi Fernandez assisted me in creating a modern classic interior look with rich accents of gold and emerald. This elegant display wouldn’t have been possible without our sponsors—Studio Eleven for the featherprint wallpaper, Lumina Concepts Lighting for the lighting fixtures, Davies for the paint, South Pacific Marble for the flooring and Wilcon Depot. Keeping a long-standing alliance with Worldbex is Wilcon Depot, the country’s leading home construction and supply store. Close to celebrating its fourth decade in the industry, the company has mastered the ins and outs of the enter- prise. Aside from always putting customer satisfaction first, a significant lesson that Wilcon has learned over the years is to value its partnerships with colleagues, suppliers and fellows in the industry.

Spanning over a decade of partnership with Worldbex, Wilcon believes that they can do more in this industry. It is an avenue where the company can monitor and be in tune with the changing times and the evergrowing market.

Top-grade exclusive brands

In this year’s trade fair, Wilcon is showing its top-grade exclusive brands. Visitors can engage in an assortment of wall and floor tiles from Grespania, Castelvetro, Novabell, and Huanqui. Tile cutter manufacturer Rubi has a booth next to the tile selections. For a range of bathroom vessels and fixtures, products from Pozzi and Grohe are on display. Geberit presents its water closets, while bathroom showers are seen at the Kohler booth. Franke features kitchen appliances, and Ariston set up its lineup of water heaters. Also participating this year is Philips to show its wide array of lamps and lighting.

Wilcon Depot’s tagline, “building big ideas,” has also become its guiding principle in running the business. Big ideas do not spring from single minds, but rather, it will vein out from collaborations and mutual agreements. In this age of a rapid globalization, having strategic partnerships should be incorporated in every plan. Having tied up with Worldbex, Wilcon appreciates the trust and the confidence placed on them. To more years of doing business, maintaining bonds, and pacing the industry together, Wilcon knows that bringing big ideas to the Filipino home builders can be done together with Worldbex.
