A grand salute to Asian culinary heritage
IN CELEBRATION of more than 16 years of bringing authentic Asian flavors closer to Filipino palates, leading food brand Good Life recently hosted a grand Chinese New Year festival entitled “Good Life Flavors of Fortune: A Celebration of Good Life” at the TriNoma Activity Center.
The successful four-day affair, which attracted a huge crowd, marked the brand relaunch of Good Life products in the Philippines in the year of the Fire Monkey.
Spectators were dazzled by an array of entertainment and traditional Chinese performances. The event was made enjoyably delicious by the Good Life Chinese food fair in partnership with Center for Culinary Arts, Manila (CCA Manila).
The food strip also featured Ho-Land Hopia and Bakery, Masflex Cookware & Kitchenware, Tai Chi Guyasteen, and Waters Philippines. There was also live Chinese cooking demos by CCA chefs Michael Cheng and Lionel O’Hari Go, and food stylist chef Sharlene Tan.
Good Life carries products like vermicelli, egg noodles, bihon, sesame oil, oyster sauce and Japanese-style bread crumbs.
The highlight of the event is the first ever Good Life Chinese culinary cook-off in partnership with CCA Manila. Students battled it out to test their culinary skills in coming up with their own modernized interpreta- tion of a traditional Chinese Lauriat.
After nearly five hours of heated combat, the grand winner was the Culinary Champions team of CCA. Special award for Best Overall Dish was the Vermicelli Taro Snapper by Michelle Lim of Culinary Champions.
