San Beda honors FVR

UPON the recommendation of the San Beda College Board of Trustees, the Legal Education Board has approved the petition of the College of Law and College of Arts & Sciences for the conferment of the degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) Honoris Causa on former President Fidel V. Ramos on Monday, April 25, during the CAS commencement rites. The former president, who will also serve as commencement speaker, is being honored for being a great Filipino leader and eminent honorary Bedan whose exemplary work, unwavering faith in his countrymen, and legacy of leadership embody SBC’s ideals of Fides (Faith), Virtus (Virtues), and Scientia (Knowledge). The conferment also recognizes his significant contribution to international understanding and the rule of law. It is also being done in accordance with the Commission on Higher Education’s Memorandum Order No. 19, Series of 2014, which sets the policies and guidelines on the conferment of honorary doctorate degrees by higher education institutions.
