PCBL: Sta. Lucia trips Supremo; Euro scores

-

STA. LUCIA Realty arrested a three-game losing skid by outlasting Supremo Lex even as Euro-Med got back to its winning ways with a victory over Foton in the PCBL Chairman’s Cup on Friday night at the Marikina Sports Center.

The Realtors survived a gutsy Builders side before coming away with an 80-76 win to notch their fifth victory in 10 games and fortified their chances for a top two berth that bears a twice-to-beat advantage.

Sta. Lucia forged a tie with Euro-Med, which pulled off a gripping 84-79 overtime win over Foton in the other game. The Realtors and the Laboratory Experts are currently tied for fourth to fifth places.

The Realtors, who welcomed a new member in the coaching staff, former University of Santo Tomas coach Bong dela Cruz, banked on the torrid shooting of Jett Vidal, who drilled in six triples, all coming in the first half.

Jam Jamito had a double-double performance of 19 points and 11 boards.

Supremo Lex lost for the ninth straight time and bowed out of contention. The Builders stayed at the cellar with a 1-9 card.

Euro-Med banked on Ola Adeogun and Jopher Custodio, who both had a double-double performance to help their team break a losing run.

Adeogun powered his way for 21 points and 13 rebounds while Custodio had 14 and 10 boards.
