Louisian wins 5th place at National Schools Press Conference
ABIGAIL I. Uy, an incoming Grade VI pupil of the University of Saint Louis, Tuguegarao City, soared during the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held at Notre Dame University, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, last Feb. 22 to 26. Among the 54 representatives from different schools in the country, Uy was awarded as fifth in News Writing English, Elementary level. The five-day NSPC with the theme “The Role of the 21st Century Campus Journalism in Upholding Good Governance and Leadership” aimed to harness the aptitude of the campus journalists and to search for the outstanding young journalists from different schools all over the Philippines. During the Tuguegarao City Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC), Uy ranked second in the same event qualifying her to participate in the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) during which she bagged a gold medal making her advance in the national level. Uy’s coach is Diana Rose M. Siringan, Elementary English coordinator and adviser of the school paper “The Louisian Angel.”
