APC honors industry partners
THE ASIA Pacific College (APC) last March 30 hosted a dinner reception and recognition of its industry partners as an appreciation for their invaluable role in APC’s mission-vision of bridging the academe with the industry, particularly for providing various career opportunities to students and graduates. Graced by the members of APC’s board of directors and academic council headed by APC chair Ramon Y. Dimacali, APC president Dr. Paulino Y. Tan, Leonida Africa, Luisito Pineda and Lizanne Uychauco, the event aims to strengthen its partnerships through internship, student trainings, faculty immersion, and curriculum development. It also opened doors for establishing new grounds for growth through the APC Senior High School Program. One of the highlights of the night was APC alumnus Cedrick Zapanta’s testimonial speech. Placing third in the 2014 CPA Licensure Examination, Zapanta shared his experiences during his internship at SGV & Co. as well as those of other interns in various companies—emphasizing APC’s tagline “Real Projects, Real Learning”—and how this became real to him while working in the corporate world. Staying true to its mission and vision, APC is very grateful to its long time and new industry partners for choosing and including APCians to their roster of interns and employees. As Zapanta puts it, APC shows the world how a young institution can revolutionize quality education.
