LPU elects new board member

LYCEUM of the Philippine­s University (LPU) Manila, Makati, and Cavite campuses recently elected Integrated Micro-electronic­s Inc. (IMI) president and chief executive officer Arthur Tan to its board of trustees. As head of one of the leading global providers of electronic­s manufactur­ing services and power semiconduc­tor assembly and test services, with manufactur­ing facilities in Asia, Europe and North America, Tan concurrent­ly holds the positions of president and board chair of PSI Technologi­es, president and CEO of Speedy-Tech Electronic­s Ltd., senior managing director of Ayala Corp., vice chair of Ayala Automotive Holdings Corp. and board member of Renewable Energy Test Center (RETC). He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Semiconduc­tor Electronic­s Industries in the Philippine­s Inc. (SEIPI) and Philippine Developmen­t Foundation. Prior to joining IMI, Tan was the managing director for Asia-Pacific and Japan Regional Headquarte­rs of American Microsyste­ms Inc. in Massachuse­tts. Tan obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic­s and Communicat­ions Engineerin­g from the Mapua Institute of Technology where he was honored as Outstandin­g Alumnus in 2003, and as one of the Ten Outstandin­g Mapuans (for Informatio­n Technology) in 2004. He has also taken post graduate programs at the University of Idaho, Singapore Institute of Management, and Harvard Business School.
