- By Jodee A. Agoncillo

A 60-YEAR-OLD massage therapist who was also known as a fortune teller was shot dead in her friend’s house in Malabon City on Wednesday.

The police are still investigating why the woman known only as Nanay Marie was killed although people in the area said she was a known drug user.

A report by Malabon police chief Senior Supt. John Chua said the victim was killed around 12:15 a.m. in the house of her friend, Yolly Llado, at Paradise Village, Letre Road in Barangay Tonsuya.

Although Nanay Marie was a resident of Sangandaan, Caloocan City, she was a frequent visitor to the Malabon neighborhood as she had many customers there.

The case investigator, PO2 Julius Mabasa, said the victim arrived at Llado’s house at 7 a.m. Tuesday where she attended to massage customers.

According to the police, the victim stayed the night but shortly past midnight, she answered a knock on the door. When she opened it, a man who has yet to be identified shot her in the face, killing her on the spot. He then escaped.

The police said that Llado has refused to give them more details about the victim and possible motives for her killing. Residents in the area, however, described the victim as a known drug user.

A resident who refused to be identified said Paradise Village was home to a lot of drug users and pushers as well as contract killers protected by politicians.
