RED ALERT: the Nissan NV350 Urvan as an ambulance

-

When saving lives is on the line, an ambulance is one of the first things that is called for. With its load of medical professionals and equipment, an ambulance may well spell the dif- ference between life and death.

Private ambulance operators generally look to specific features of a potential vehicle that can be converted into use as an ambulance. Among others, having more than adequate space is important for medical personnel to work over the patient while in transit. Another is that the vehicle must have a heavy- duty suspension for it to be able to take on the load of passengers and medical equipment. A good suspension also affords the patient a level of comfort especially if going over rough roads. Finally, a good after- sales service to ensure that the ambulance will run in tip- top shape is an added plus.

The Nissan NV350 Urvan is the latest model in the Nissan Urvan line, celebrating its first anniversary in the Philippine market. This new generation vehicle comes configured in a va- riety of seating styles that can fit both commuter and cargo requirements alike.

THE NISSAN NV350 URVAN IN ACTION

Dan Uy, owner and operator of Ambucare EMS Solutions, chose to go with the Nissan NV350 Urvan in adding to his fleet of ambulances, after his positive experience before with another Nissan vehicle.

"Our first ambulance was a Nissan Estate," Uy recalled. "Then when it was time to add to my fleet, I chose to get two more units, this time the Nissan NV350 Urvan."

Uy cited the Urvan's strong diesel 2.5- L 4- cylinder engine as well as the trademark Nissan air- conditioning system as the two factors that influenced his choice.

"Using a Nissan van before has already proven to me the reliability and strength of their en- gines, something that is crucial in our type of job," he explained. "Because our coverage is nationwide, we have to be absolutely sure our ambulances can take the rigors of long- distance driving, are able to go up steep mountains, and are agile enough to go through traf- fic and narrow roads", he said.

Ambucare currently has two Nissan NV350 Urvan 15- seater units on duty, retrofitted as am- bulances. Uy prefers this model, as he finds its redesigned airconditioning vents system effective in providing a constant flow of cooling air for both driver and passengers alike. "It is important for us to also ensure our patient's comfort; I like how the Nissan NV350 Urvan dis- tributes the vents throughout the vehicle, as it gives us more flexibility when it comes to cooling".

THE NISSAN NV350 URVAN : TODAY'S PRACTICAL CHOICE

Given the Nissan NV350 Urvan's powerful engine that provides a mix of power and fuel economy, its spaciousness, suspension system, and vaunted Nissan cool air- conditioning system, it is no wonder that the Nissan NV350 Urvan is a top of mind choice for moving both people and cargo together.

"The Nissan NV350 Urvan has what it takes to take on the demands of an ambulance ser- vice. I consider it a valuable partner in our line of work", Uy said. "That, plus the fact that Nissan Philippines supports its vehicles with aftersales service through the Nissan Customer Assistance Center ( NCAC), I am confident that I have a partner I can rely on."
