This year, the pageant calls out for everyone to be "Empowered to Address Climate Change". With a festive aura, the venue was filled with goddess-like beauties who possess highly intelligible brains and big, attentive hearts for the sake of Mother Earth last May 6 for the swimsuit fashion show.
Ms. Aquaboy is also this year's crowned Miss Philippines Earth Imelda Schweighart of Puerto Princesa, who won by judges' unanimous decision. The pageant was graced by judges namely Aquaboy Resort President, Atty. Fidel Exconde, Jr., Miss Century Tuna Superbods 2014, Sara Paola Polverini, Worldstage Productions, Inc., Atty. Erwin Genuino, Congressman Benjo Benaldo and International Model, Polina. Miss Philippines Earth 2016 Coronation Night was held last June 11, at the UP Theatre, Diliman, Quezon City.
Earlier during the whole month of May, the Miss Philippines Earth beauties had a series of environmental and fashion events and competitions: Swimwear fashion show last May 6 at Aquaboy Resort, Eco Activity on May 9 in Vigan City, Evening Gown competition last May 14 at the Landbank Auditorium in Ermita, Press Conference/ Press Presentation last May 16 at the Diamond Hotel's poolside, the Trash to Class competition on May 17, Resort Wear competition last May 20 at the Pontefino Hotel in Batangas City, and Cultural Costume competition last May 26 at the Versailles Palace in Alabang.
This prestigious pageant will not be complete without lending a helping hand to the ones in need. The Miss Philippines Earth contestants paid a Charity Visit at the Nayon ng Kabatan in Mandaluyong City last June 1 and at the Child Haus near the Philippine General Hospital in Manila on June 2. They also graced the MPE Sportsfest and Pot Seeding event at Camp Crame last June 3.
