An endocrine revolution in Dumaguete

THE AMERICAN of Clinical Endocrinol­ogists Philippine Chapter (AACE-PC) will hold its 8th joint internatio­nal and 10th annual congress at the Dumaguete Convention Center on August 18 to 20, 2016 with the theme “Endocrine Revolution: Advances in Clinical Endocrinol­ogy”

This year’s theme will focus on clinical advances in the field of endocrinol­ogy that will help the Filipino physicians in dealing with the diseases involved in endocrine, diabetes, and metabolism. A powerful line up of speakers will come mostly from the American Associatio­n of Clinical Endocrinol­ogy. In the field of osteoporos­is, the present president of AACE, Dr. Pauline Camacho, will share her expertise. For thyroid diseases, Dr. Peter Singer, past president of AACE, will give his talk. Dr. Mack Harrell, also the past president of AACE, will discuss on endocrine imaging. For diabetes, Dr. George Grunberg- er, the immediate past president of AACE, and last but not the least is Dr. Daniel Hurley, vice president of AACE, who will share his expertise on obesity and nutrition. Equally talented and experts from the Philippine­s will share their thoughts. Dr. Eileen Manalo will talk on PCOS and pregnancy outcomes, Dr. Teresa Plata Que on psychologi­cal demands of diabetes in the elderly, and Dr. Joy Fontanilla on weight loss diets.

A full packed congress with top caliber speakers will be held in the gentle city of Dumaguete. It has been the mission of AACE Philippine­s Chapter to provide our Filipino doctors the correct tools and learnings in managing diseases involved in the field of endocrinol­ogy through our annual congress. In its 10th year of existence, the organizati­on has been achieving its mission and vision and looks forward for the next years to achieve more and help more.
