IPC sets up dedicated truck service center

- By Charles E. Buban

IF YOU’RE an owner of an Isuzu truck that is scheduled for preventive maintenance or repair, your only option is to wait for experts at Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) to drop by your office to perform the necessary servicing.

But with Isuzu’s large commercial vehicles seeing tremendous growth figures in the first half of 2016—deliveries of Isuzu heavy-duty Category V trucks logged an unparalleled 833.3 percent spike, IPC decided to set up a dedicated service shop that is specifically designed to accommodate Isuzu’ s F-Series, C-Series and E-Series truck models.

During the Truck Servicing Facility inauguration held last month at Isuzu Manila in Paco, IPC president Hajime Koso said the additional service facilities at Isuzu Manila—comprehensive parts stock bay, as well as a new customer lounge—is a proactive response by IPC to give its clients the option of having their medium- and heavy- duty truck models repaired and maintained at a dedicated service center.

“The Philippines’ robust economy presents both new opportunities and challenges for the business community, and the transport sector is not ex- cluded from this position.

"With the opening of a new dedicated service center for large commercial-use vehicles in Isuzu Manila, Isuzu Philippines Corporation is ensuring that companies involved in transporting goods and services have immediate and convenient access to highly qualified facilities, putting their respective businesses at an advantage,” said Koso.

He added that apart from the growth enjoyed by its heavy-duty Category V trucks, IPC’s Category IV buses also grew by 25 percent, while its Category IV trucks posted a 16.6 percent rise in sales.

Combined, sales of IPC’s commercial trucks and buses in the first six months of the year have totaled to 2,703 units, a 36.7 percent surge from the 1,977-unit tally for the same period in 2015.

Isuzu Manila’s new dedicated service facility also keeps in stock an inventory of parts and components for Isuzu mediumand heavy-duty trucks, a move that would cut the possible downtime caused by delays in the delivery of required parts to customers.

Other Isuzu dealerships only stock Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) parts for these truck models.
