AFITTING finale to the Paris Haute Couture Spring/ Summer 2016 Fashion Week, Ronald van der Kemp presented his second collection for his RVDK house.

The Dutch designer created a timeless wardrobe using vintage clothes recut and reworked to become one-of-a-kind fashion. These mix-and-match collages formed a collection that is called demi-couture inspired by high end ready-to-wear staple of blouses, skirts and pants.

Gingham and leather pipe pants. Tight pantsuits. Evening glamazons.

Meet a designer with a true love of fashion, who signs every design “with love.” He rocked Paris Fashion Week with clean, crisp and severely elegant designs.

After 25 years working for the mega brands Andre Courreges, Bill Blass, Guy Laroche, Celine, this designer is ready to rethink and reinvent luxury in his atelier in Amsterdam.

He sources limited fabrics, sometimes ripping off original garments from the ’70s, ’80s. The designs are an alternative to mass market and luxury brands.

His couture offerings are familiar takes on classic pants paired with structured blouses. But look closer, the fabrics are couture— sharkskin, gazar, cire, crepe de chine, alligator and devoured damask. A whiff of Yves Saint Lauent and biker chic. His collages of crazy quilting fabrics, patent leather touches and seductive evening wear.

Daytime couture is his forte with his razor-sharp tailoring. Here is a collection where couture has a youthful injection, the result is minimal modernity with a libidinous vibe.
