History society turns 75
THE PHILIPPINE National Historical Society (PNHS) marks its 75th founding anniversary with its 36th National Conference on National and Local History at Casa Real de Iloilo in Iloilo City on Oct. 22-24.
The conference is cosponsored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts-Committee on Historical Research, the city government of Butuan led by Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada, the Butuan City Heritage Society, and the Philippine Social Science Council, with the endorsement of the Commission on Higher Education. Its theme is “Mindanao History in the Context of National History.”
The PNHS is the oldest historical organization in the country, founded in 1941.
