It's one thing to back-up your files and it's another to have easy access to it whenever you need them. Moreover, as with any pocket-sized storage drives, security can be an issue - what happens to confidential files and photos if, on the off-chance, the drive is misplaced? The iData Pro answers all of these concerns.
Originally developed for use with Apple devices, the iData Pro's primary purpose was to make it more convenient for Apple users to back-up data and files from their iPhones/iPads and transfer these directly to a computer or laptop. Basically, it cuts out function of the iTunes.
The device operates in partnership with the iData Pro application, which is free for download from the iOS App Store. Once the user plugs in the iData Pro and launches the app, he can now directly transfer files, back-up his entire address book, and even launch the camera function from the app to instantly save photos on the storage drive. For Android users, the iData Pro functions as an extended memory drive, by plugging it with the OTG cable that comes with the box.
Besides the basic functions, it offers better security as the user can opt to set his own passcode upon first use. Once the passcode is set, it will link the iData Pro to his smartphone's "Touch ID", if applicable. That iData Pro becomes exclusive to the user and will ask for the security code each time is plugged in to a mobile Apple device. The user can also opt to "lock" the iData Pro against access on laptops and standard USBpowered reading devices. It can compress and uncompress .ZIP files. With Apple devices, the user typically has to download an application in order to uncompress .ZIP folders. With the iData Pro, the user can now compress files right on his device, through the app.
It can also create folders -and organize your backed-up files into folders right on the app. The iData Pro can also directly transfer backup files to your laptop / computer and copy files into drive easily. When plugged into a computer using the USB data cable, the iData Pro can be accessed just like a regular flash drive, allowing it to copy files to and from the drive seamlessly.
