2016 National Final winners to compete in highly anticipated World Final in Dubai.
The BMW Golf Cup International National Final returned for its 6th consecutive year to recognize the delegates that will represent the Philippines in the World Final in March 2017. Presented by Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, the most prestigious amateur golf invitational in the country gathered select BMW customers and guests to compete in four (4) major divisions where Ceferino De Leon, Robert Leung, Jessalyn Tan, and Raymond Lacdao bested contenders to emerge as category champions.
Ceferino De Leon held a net score of 54 to nab the top rank in the Men's Class I division. Ronilo Olaguera finished as a close second and edged Wilson Guado to third place via countback, after tying 53 points.
Meanwhile, Robert Leung led an inspired game to become the Men's Class II division champion with 66 points. Robert Layson came in at sec- ond place with 57 points followed by Vic Alimurung in third with 56 points.
As with the Men's Class I and II, the Ladies division saw an equally exciting competition under the Modified Stableford playing format as Jessalyn Tan clinched the highest billing by scoring 56 points to relegate Malu Gamboa to second place with 52 points. Irene Dy completed the category's roster with 47 points at third place.
In the Guest division, Raymond Lacdao defeated 29 players including last year's Men's Class A category champion William Hong to land the pole position. Lacdao finished with 63 points while Hong posted 67 points under the System 36 format. Arnel Paras settled for third place with 69 points.
The winners of the Men's Class I, Men's Class II, and Ladies divisions promised to deliver outstanding performance and set the benchmark for athleticism and accuracy as the tournament series culminates at the BMW Golf Cup In- ternational World Final, which will take place in the Majis and Faldo courses of the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on March 5-10, 2017.
