‘Feel French’ fashion event opens at SMAura/
Mall-goers had the rare opportunity to have a glimpse of exciting contemporary French fashion during the recent PhilFrance Fashion Week 2017 at SM Aura Premier. Highlight was “Beau Travail,” the collection of internationally renowned designer Clivia Nobili.
A project of the Embassy of France with SM Aura Premier, the event is part of “Phil France: Feel French,” a celebration of 70 years of Franco-Philippine friendship.
The “Feel French” campaign celebrates distinctly French lifestyle, gastronomy, fashion, culture and sports.
Nobili, born in Paris, took evening classes at the Fashion Institute Technology in New York. In 1994-95 she was assistant stylist for Charles Jourdan.
A costume designer for film, TV and advertising, whose clients include Peugeot, Décathlon, Renault, Premier Suspect and Marionnaud, Nobili was also workwear designer for Chassagnette restaurant, Opéra of Lille, Grand Palais Lille and Auchand Department Store.
“Her latest collection, ‘Beau Travail,’ which means ‘good job’ or ‘good work’ in French, aims to bring a revolutionary twist to corporate attire that would still be wearable in the Philippines,” said SMsenior VP for marketing
Millie Dizon. “The clothes in the collection are made of 100percent cotton and cotton-linen with deep blue, rouge and saffron as color palette.”
