WEISS CONQUERS TOUGHEST XTERRA RACE
DANAO, CEBU—
Bradley Weiss pulled off a repeat after ruling Xterra Philippines on a scorching Sunday morning here.
Weiss clocked three hours and 16 seconds, overcoming what he claimed as the toughest race he’s ever been in.
“I’ve been racing professionally for six years now all over the world and this was the hardest and hottest race I’ve ever done,” said Weiss.
The 26-year-old Weiss finished third in the swim leg behind Ben Allen and Sam Os- borne but the South African picked up the pace in the bike and run stages.
Carina Walse of Austria topped the female pro category in 4:07:49.
Allen’s wife, Jacqui Slack, failed to finish the race due to dehydration.
