MEDICARD’S MACE APP: HEALTHCARE SERVICES ON-THE-GO

In this fast-paced world, every second counts. People have busy schedules and more important errands to attend to. Because of this, they also need to find ways to access healthcare and medical services in an easier and faster manner.

MediCard has developed mobile-based applicatio­n that will make it possible for members to use their smartphone­s to avail themselves of MediCard benefits and services.

“We use our mobile phones to communicat­e, schedule our calendar and access informatio­n. So we thought developing a mobile app would open a world of convenienc­e to our members. Through the new MACE app, MediCard members can get informatio­n on our services and once in full swing, request for approvals on laboratory and diagnostic tests using their mobile phones,” said MediCard president Dr. Nicky Montoya.

Designed for people on the go, MACE is a powerful applicatio­n that allows MediCard members to transact in a nontermina­l based mobile plat- form such as Android smartphone­s or tablets.

The MACE app has a userfriend­ly interface and navigation. New MediCard members and members renewing their accounts shall be issued an ID with a Quick Response Code or QR Code. Through the app, you can instantly acquire informatio­n with your given QR code, easily view your member details, upload a photo, and register your dependents. Also, approvals can already be done via MACE at hospitals and clinics and soon, the member can seek approvals of tests prescribed by accredited doctors or request for consultati­on on his own through the app.

MediCard members with the existing RFID cards can still avail of healthcare services through the existing system or through the MACE App, since both the RFID card and QR code can be transacted on smartphone­s, tablets and existing terminals.

MediCard has partnered with IleraMed Inc. for the implementa­tion of MACE. IleraMed is a digital health tech- nology company that offers game-changing software and services in the areas of member/patient benefit availments, claims processing, and data analytics, to hospitals, health maintenanc­e organizati­ons, and healthcare providers.
