MOUsigned between DLSAU, MINDA
The Environmental and Climate Change Research Institute, as represented by its founder and senior research scientist Glenn Banaguas, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Mindanao Development Authority (MINDA) last March 4. Aside from Banaguas, the other signatories were Cardinal Orlando Quevedo, Mindanao River Basin Management Council president Hon. Datu Hj. Abul Khayr Alonto, and MINDA Undersecretary Janet Lopoz. The Terms of Reference (TOR) of the MOA aim to promote, implement and monitor the “F-E-W for U” System: ACCA-DRRMSolution for Food- Energy-Water Nexus Interactions in Mindanao; as well as conduct trainings, capacity buildings, and consultation workshops of various stakeholders (e.g. Provincial Government, Local Government, Higher Education Institutions, Civil Society Organizations, Church Leaders, and Private Sector) in the region on People’s Survival Fund (PSF). This agreement is part of the bigger program, Climate Smart Mindanao, headed by Banaguas. Banaguas is an Outstanding Young Scientist of the Philippines and a US-ASEAN Fellow for Science and Technology, among his other distinctions.
