UNAHCO fortifies linkage with LGU veterinarians
Leading integrated agribusiness firm Univet Nutrition and Animal Healthcare Company (UNAHCO) will continue to support the programs and projects of provincial, city and municipal veterinarians to help boost the local animal health industry.
UNAHCO made this commitment during the 15th Annual Convention and Scientific Conference of Provincial, City and Municipal Veterinarians League of the Philippines (PCMVLP) held last May 17 to 19, 2017 in Legazpi City, Albay which was attended by more than 100 LGU veterinarians from all over the country.
The theme of this year’s convention is “Strengthening Linkages and Sharing Best Practices.” The event’s guest speaker was Dr. Ernesto Gonzalez, Executive Director of National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), who acknowledged that one of the best ways to attain public health is by creating a strong linkage between the national and local government in ensuring meat safety.
PCMVLP President Dr. Perla Asis, Cagayan de Oro’s city veterinarian, ordered everyone to strengthen their sense of involvement in the nation building. “Take pride in our profession as government veterinarians and continue our active participation in bringing change in livestock and poultry industry to its rightful niche,” she said. “Linkages with one another, other government agencies and non-government organizations in bringing out best services to our clients and stakeholders are vital as implementers,” she added.
Attesting to that statement, UNAHCO shared to the delegates its strong linkages with numerous companies and organizations that made them the leading animal health company and the fastest growing animal nutrition company in the country. UNAHCO Customer Relations Manager Ms. Arlene Pamintuan stressed that the partnership with LGUs is indeed significant. “We make sure that our local activities such as livelihood programs and educational seminars are tied-up with the LGUs.”
UNAHCO Brand Officer Mr. Jolliver Degollado meanwhile presented a new campaign that will provide livestock technicians with safe, quality veterinary products such as GenVet which they can use during their vet missions. “Maaasahang Technician Program will equip government technicians with essential veterinary products in order to protect our farm animals from sickness and diseases,” he said. “Through this longterm program, we will be able to maintain our communication with the LGUs and other stakeholders as well,” he added.
The next PCMVLP Convention is slated in Bohol in May 2018.
