Ayala Land volunteers join Brigada Eskwela 2017

-

Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) volunteers once again participated in this year’s Brigada Eskwela, the Department of Education’s (DepEd) annual volunteerism program to prepare public schools for the opening of classes. Ever since the program was established by the DepEd, ALI has been mobilizing volunteers to ensure that schools are safe and conducive for learning by cleaning the school premises, repainting walls and blackboards, refurbishing classroom facilities, and repairing fences.

In an effort to reach out and help more public schools this year, Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI) assembled over a thousand employees from the different Ayala companies for its Brigadang Ayala program. Ayala Land supported this initiative by rallying its volunteers to participate in newBrigadaEskwelasites such as Buklod Bahayan Child Development Center in Cavite and Em’s Signal Elementary School in Taguig.

ALI also conducted Brigada Eskwela activities at Apolonio Samson Elementary School and Balingasa Elementary School in Quezon City, and Western Bicutan Tenement Elementary School in Taguig. Its volunteers also visited Morong, Bataan, a partner community of the company, to extend their help to schools namely Morong National High school, Pag-asa Day Care, Mabayo Day Care and Minanga Day Care. These are in addition to the company’s annual Brigada activities in target public schools in the vicinity of its developments.

“Our employee volunteers see much value in these activities. They learn a lot, become closer to the communities, and gain a sense of fulfilment that goes beyond their accomplishments at work,” said Atty. Elis Tanlapco, Ayala Land’s Human Resources and Public Affairs Group Head.

Ayala Land’s participation in Brigadang Ayala is part of Alagang Ayala Land, the company’s commitment to social development and environmental stewardship.
