HIJO BREAKS GROUND AS THE NEXT GATEWAY TO ASEAN

-

TAGUM CITY — Hijo Resources Corporation (HRC) continues to expand and positions itself as an emerging gateway to the ASEAN market.

With the recent ground breaking of the 166 hectare Hijo Industrial Estates accredited by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), Davao region can now boast as the next hub for industrial development.

“We are launching Hijo Industrial Estates to make Davao region, especially Tagum City, an ideal gateway for foreign and local exporters and importers alike,” said Rosanna Tuason-Fores, CEO and President of Hijo Resources Corporation in the event.

“We operate in a viable and prime location. Everything that we do here is complimentary to the government’s vision of economic development, following the ASEAN Community’s Blueprint,” Fores added.

Business as Usual

For the event to push through despite the recent declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao, Hijo Executives together with the various stakeholders who are focused on helping the island grow to its fullest potential sent a strong message to all.

In Fores’ speech, she stressed how important it is for the world to know that it is business as usual in Mindanao.

“The launching of Hijo Industrial Estates is a testimony to Hijo’s commitment, investment, and resolve in fulfilling the potentials that Mindanao promises –economic development and progress that is sustainable and inclusive. It marks our collective and collaborative efforts, that only together can we build an inclusive, sustainable, and transformative Mindanao,” said Fores.

House Speaker Pantaleon D. Alvarez graced the event and shared his vision of creating the Davao Gulf Metropolitan Development Authority. He emphasized that with the present administration’s leadership, the economic landscape of Region XI will definitely change.

Sustainable Township

Hijo Industrial Estates is part of HRC’s sprawling 760-hectare property that is envisioned to become a self-contained and sustainable township.

Partnered with the International Container Terminal Services, Inc., Hijo’s massive property is where the second largest international port in the country shall rise and will connect Mindanao to various major Asian markets. A town center, residential estates, and leisure and tourism sites are the developments along the way to accommodate the future business requirements of the area.

Hijo Industrial Estates will also build a 30-meter wide spine road and 21-meter wide secondary roads constructed in concrete following the Philippine Highway Standards. A centralized sewage treatment plant will be incorporated using hybrid renewable energy generators as required for efficient operations.

On telecommunications, the property will have access to fiber optic based communications system which consist of broadband connectivity for high speed data, clear call quality and faster web browsing experience. The area will be enclosed with high security fence and will provide 24/7 security measures. Satellite government offices for PEZA, Customs and Local Government Unit of Tagum City will also rise in the property to ease business and cater the needs of locators.

With Hijo Industrial Estates strategic location, the vision to become the complete gateway to Southern Mindanao and to BIMPEAGA nations is possible.
