FATHER’S DAY EVENTS FOR MILLENNIAL DADS

Traditiona­l Father’s Day celebratio­ns take the back seat as Megaworld Lifestyle Malls launches events catering to the interests and hobbies of the millennial dad.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls revisions its Father’s Day events to match the changing culture of fatherhood and appeal to a generation known for pop culture, FOMO, gaming and other young at heart pursuits.

Eastwood City leads the trend of breaking stereotypi­cal Father’s Day celebratio­ns with the launch of its “unFather’s Day” campaign which calls to “dads who never grew up.” unFather’s Day will run until June 25 with a Hot Wheels toy exhibit, Live Wrestling matches from Philippine Wrestling Revolution, Archery Workshops, 90’s Character Meet and Greet, Beers and Flaring Shows, Virtual Reality Domes and a DJ Night.

At McKinley Hill, car loving dads are up for a “Supercharg­ed Father’s Day” until June 18. The event targets fans of the fast and the furious lifestyle with activities like Super Car exhibits from known custom car specialist­s Car Porn Racing and Autoline. The event will also feature beer promos, a dad inspired gift fair and musical performanc­es with DJs, acoustic acts, The JaPh Dolls girl group, and Filipino rockband The Dawn.

Meanwhile, Uptown Bonifacio will feature an event inspired by the millennial concept of the mancave, or the man’s hobby den. Until June 18, “Mancave: Father’s Day Celebratio­n at Uptown Bonifacio” will feature a roundup of millennial hobbies headlined by POP! ToyCon x Pop Life Experience which celebrates all things pop culture. Dads will also enjoy The Dalmore Pop Up Whisky Bar at Uptown Mall. While at Uptown Parade guests will witness Dad’s Dream Garage, a Sports Car collection exhibiting luxury cars and live performanc­es every 8 p.m.

At Forbes Town, dads will be treated to “Dad’s Day Out” until June 18 which will feature promos from establishm­ents perfect for a millennial dad’s lifestyle such as Anytime Fitness, The Village Barber, Beyond the Box, Primo Cycle and more. Dads will also enjoy “Dad’s Pint Night” which will allow dads to unwind with free drinks from featured restaurant­s, plus a Father’s Day Fair.

Finally at Lucky Chinatown, Father’s Day will be marked by the premiere of the latest in- stallment of animated feature film Despicable Me 3 from June 18 to 25. Dads can join their kids at Despicable Me-themed activities such as arts and crafts, along with a meet and greet with character mascots from the film franchise. Lucky Chinatown will also host a Father’s Day Fair with gifts for the millennial dad until June 18 at the 2nd floor atrium.
