SOFITEL HOLDS 79TH OKTOBERFEST
Ein Prosit! Ein Prosit! Der Gemütlichkeit (A toast, a toast to cheer and good times)! That’s the famous Oktoberfest theme song that kicks off the celebration of the legendary annual beer festival.
On Oct. 6-7, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila and the German Club Manila co-host the 79th German Club Oktoberfest.
Now on its 8th year at Sofitel, the popular event will be held at Sofitel’s Harbor Garden Tent, which will be transformed into a traditional biergärten for the most authentic staging of Oktoberfest in the country.
With more than 2,000 guests expected, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s master chefs will prepare a grand feast of Bavarian specialties—from roasted pork knuckles, roasted calf, laugen rolls, grilled German sausages to pastries, with unlimited ice-cold San Miguel beer.
For musical performances, The Bavarian Sound Express flies in from Germany. There will be the annual beer- drinking contest and raffle draw with a grand prize that takes the winner to his/ her destination of choice in Germany.
For this honest-to-goodness Bavarian celebration, women don colorful dirndls while men sport the traditional lederhosen.
