VIPS TO TRAVEL IN STYLE,
while ensuring utmost comfort and safety
Visiting heads of state and dignitaries to the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) may get to experience a taste of Metro Manila traffic but at least they’re totally assured of a comfortable, as well as most exquisite ride.
For its premium mobility requirements, the Philippine government has appointed the Asian Carmakers Corp. ( ACC), the importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, as its official partner.
It should be remembered that in 2015, the organizers behind the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Summit also chose BMWvehicles to ferry dignitaries around Metro Manila.
Visiting dignitaries from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, and the Philippines will be ushered by any of the 300 specially commissioned BMW 730Li, BMW 520d, and BMWX5 vehicles.
Also benefiting from these luxury transports are other heads of state and esteemed representatives from dialogue partners like the United States, Russia, Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.
“We are honored to resume our tour of duty as the premium mobility provider of the 31st Asean Summit in this milestone year. By providing our fleet of BMW luxury vehicles to our world leaders, we strengthen our support to the government’s aspiration for positive change,” says ACC president Maricar Parco.
Flagship luxury sedan
The BMW 730Li is the German automaker’s flagship sedan offering 258 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque from its 2-liter gasoline engine.
This luxury sedan extends typical BMW driving pleasure to include the enjoyment of being driven. VIPs who occupy the luxurious seats in the rear enjoy a generous amount of space. While the its chassis technology offers a driving experience of unrestricted comfort and dynamics in every situation, the features of innovative comfort and entertainment functions ensure a supreme level of relaxed travelling pleasure.
The VIPs would be fascinated engaging BMW Touch Command, a tablet with 7-inch display that is integrated into the center armrest in the rear. It is connected to the car’s systems and offers comprehensive operation and setting options.
Using the tablet, the rear seats and front passenger seat can be adjusted as well as air conditioning, ventilation, interior lighting with Ambient light, and the roller sunblinds. The entertainment functions can also be controlled.
The BMW520d, on the other hand, is the German automaker’s mid-size sedan powered by a 2-liter turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 190 hp and an immense 400 Nmof torque.
Visiting dignitaries are also set to enjoy the luxury and performance of BMW’s third generation X5. This Sport Activity Vehicle offers outstanding performance starting with its 3liter TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine that delivers 450 hp and maximum torque of 650 Nm.
Rear seat guests will be able to enjoy the very best entertainment and most comfortable seats, however long the journey.
Opulent vans from Hyundai
Complementing these luxury rides from BMWare equally opulent vans provided by Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the country.
Fifty H350 luxury vans will be fielded to provide transport for the Asean 50 Summit and the Asean Business and Investment Summit (ABIS). The Hyundai H350 is a full-size van that boasts an elegant exterior and a comfortable, spacious, and functional interior good for 13 passengers.
“It is significant that the Asean and Hyundai coincide in celebrating 50 years of their respective journeys toward sustainability and shared prosperity. It is even more significant that our paths should converge in the Philippines. It is a double honor to be part of this historic meeting of influential minds,” says HARI president and CEO Ma. Fe Perez Agudo in an earlier statement.
With a width measuring 2 meters, height of 2.6 meters and length of 6 meters, occupants of the H350 can enjoy generous amount of standing and walking space.
Powering the H350 is a turbocharged 2.5-liter diesel engine that delivers 170 hp and 421 Nm of torque. This power plant is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Like ACC, this isn’t the first time HARI served as an official mobility partner for big international events. Back in 2012, select vehicles of HARI served the 45th ADB Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors. Two years later, it also provided transport for the dignitaries of the Asean Finance Ministers Investments Seminar (AFMIS) and World Economic Forum East Asia (WEF-EA).
