PSL TWEAKS 2018 CALENDAR; PETRON TAKES ON COCOLIFE

-

The Philippine Superliga (PSL) has rearranged its schedule for the next season to continue getting quality imports without encountering problem with the international transfer certificate of foreign players.

“We decided to tweak our calendar in compliance with the new international calendar. Since our Grand Prix is within the international transfer period, it would be easy for us to invite foreign players for the Grand Prix, while making our players available for international competitions,” said PSL president Ramon “Tats” Suzara.

Starting next season, the PSL will hold the import-flavored Grand Prix at the start of the year in accordance with the new competition calendar of the International Volleyball Federa- tion (FIVB) and the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).

The Grand Prix, will be staged Feb. 17 to May 17 in 2018. It will be followed by the Challenge Cup beach volleyball tournament from May 26 to June 16.

The All-Filipino Conference will be from July 28 to Nov. 15. It will give way to the 6th AVC Asian Cup for Women in Thailand on Sept. 17 to 23.

Meanwhile, Petron guns for its seventh win and a share of the lead when it clashes with Cocolife on Thursday in the Chooks to Go-PSL Grand Prix at Filoil Flying V Center. ‘

The featured encounter is set at 4:15 p.m.

Generika-Ayala and Sta. Lucia tangle in the other match at 7 p.m., with both squads hoping to improve on their standings.
