Banana Peel Flip Flops step towards a more inclusive Philippines
Every colorful pair of Banana Peel Flip Flops inspires adventure and positivity in customers. For the brand’s latest collection, the products’ designs now spark hope for people with special needs, by including them on this new journey.
For the collection “Project Inclusion” coming out this month, Banana Peel collaborated with Unilab Foundation and funded an art commission event. Five PWD artists’ paintings were digitized and used as designs for the flip flops. Guided by coaches, persons with autism created artworks with the theme “Explore in Color.”
Vibrant and creative, this limited edition collection carries an inspirational message: that everyone can express themselves through Banana Peel product designs. The flip flops serve as more than just customers’ companion in their walk of life. More so, the footwear raises awareness and empowers people with special needs (such as autism) to be productive members of society.
“Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are an untapped resource for businesses and communities—they just need the right conditions. Harnessing their exceptionalities in the workplace is good for the business, good for the organization, and good for the PWDs themselves,” said Grant Javier Program Manager of Project Inclusion.
Over the years, Banana Peel has established good relations with renowned institutions such as WWFPhilippines, the Department of Tourism, and the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation to reinforce greater positive change. Having a high regard for corporate social responsibility, the company constantly connects to consumers and exerts effort for the good of the environment.
