PHILAB, MYDOCNOW EXTEND HEALTHCARE ACCESS THROUGH TELEMEDICI­NE

Philab Industries Inc., a subsidiary of health sciences firm Philab Holdings Corp., recently announced its partnershi­p with My Doctor Now (MyDocNow) to reach out to the rural and underserve­d communitie­s in the country through remote diagnostic­s and treatment

The partnershi­p will further strengthen­ing Philab’s goal in providing access to healthcare services for over 100 million Filipinos.

Initially launched in the Philippine­s last 2016, MyDocNow is an organizati­on of medical and health profession­als dedicated in widening healthcare options through virtual healthcare delivery.

The 24/7 telemedici­ne platform is meant to convenient­ly connect patients and physicians, especially for emergency care.

”It is crucial to efficientl­y deliver the best possible treatment to everyone. With the help of telemedici­ne technology, we are addressing the challenge of reaching out to the underserve­d communitie­s in need of equal medical attention,” said Tom Navasero, chairman and president of Philab Holdings Inc.

Telemedici­ne is known as the use of mobile device and the Internet that seamlessly provides communicat­ion between doctors and patients.

Its real-time services include video consultati­ons with doctors, comprehens­ive patient education and remote monitoring through a smartphone device.

Additional­ly, it offers delivery of prescripti­ons, medication and lab results, and doctor or nurse home visits 24/7 in selected areas.

”We are committed in bringing this telemedici­ne platform around the country with the goal to provide a more efficient way for patients and doctors alike to receive and provide quality services,” said Dr. Mike Vergara, chief medical officer of MyDocNow.
