The Christmas season at Lancaster New City Cavite makes for a fun and fantastic holiday weekend festival that is sure to bring good cheer to all members of the family. As property developer PRO-FRIENDS celebrates the 10th anniversary of Lancaster New City, it continues the development’s three-year tradition of setting up exciting lights and sounds show to delight both kids and the young at heart.

The lightshow that is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday until December 26 features dancing lights and colorful Santa’s workshop decors that are set to well-loved Christmas carols. To make it more exciting, laser light effects have been added to the program this year.

Aside from the lightshow, they are also mounting free concerts by popular artists at the Central Greens, the sprawling open space at the back of the new retail commercial building of The Square, to add to the Christmas cheer. “Filipinos are very musical. Singing and music binds family and friends together, so we have added concerts as another way for people to get together and bond and enjoy each others’ company. It adds to the festive atmosphere of the whole event,” shares Charity Guillermo, Lancaster New City VP for Sales and Marketing. “This is our third year of holding a Christmas event. On the first year, we had an estimated 12,000 attendees. Last year, we had about 17,000 and we are expecting more this year because we have more fun family activities with over 10,000 households as compared to last year’s 6,000.”

The opening night of Lancaster New City’s Christmas events last November 25, in fact was a huge success as the concert featuring Fifth Dynamics, Mackie Cao, and Rocksteddy was jam-packed. The next musical extravaganza will be held on the evening of December 16 featuring Imago, Six Cycle Mind, Banda ni Kleggy, Stellar and Gracenote. “We chose these musical acts because our homeowners are mostly young families, and we feel that these artists are the ones that resonate with their generation.” Guillermo explained.

Another exciting Christmas event inside Lancaster New City to watch out for is the Open Air Cinema and the blessing of a 20-foot sculpture made by an award-winning artist Merlito Gepte on December 9. The sculpture, called “Perpetuity” is the symbol of the happy, united, and active families who live inside Lancaster New City. On why they chose this theme, Guillermo said, “we would like to show that love for the family is really perpetual.” The sculpture blessing will then be followed by Christmas-themed games and a free film-showing of Star Cinema blockbusters “Love You to the Stars and Back” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love” at the Central Greens.

Residents and guests who will watch the lightshow and concerts can find a variety of restaurants at The Square, Lancaster New City’s commercial-retail building. The Dekada Food Bazaar at the Central Greens is also open from Wednesdays to Saturdays, starting at 4pm up to midnight.

The Christmas Events is meant to be enjoyed by both Lancaster New City families and guests for them to have an avenue to bond during the holidays. Guillermo added, “We would like to be really true and espouse the vision of being a family friendly city, where our residents can Live, Learn, Work, Play, and Pray.”

The Sales and Marketing exec revealed that in its expansion as a flourishing township, Lancaster New City is adding more facilities to meet the needs of their residents. There will be additional St. Edward Integrated School campuses that will be located near residential areas of the development. The commercial center will be expanding to accommodate more popular retail establishments. Next year, we will be launching our first BPO office building offering job opportunities that will allow the Lancaster New City residents to work nearer their homes.
