SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION FOR WORLDBEX 2018
Living up to its reputation as the country’s biggest and most attended construction and design trade show in the country, the Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition (Worldbex) was met by another astounding success when it held its 22nd installment last year.
Housing over 1,000 exhibiting companies, the event attracted over 170,000 visitors from across the globe—attesting to its relentlessly growing ascendancy in the industry.
Following this triumphant streak, Worldbex Services International is more than thrilled to announce the return of Worldbex on March 14 to 18 at the World Trade Center, Philippine Trade Training Center and the SMX Convention Center.
For its 23rd year, Worldbex will aim towards inspiring industry practitioners of the construction and design trade to unite and pursue the common vision of “Shaping Innovation towards Sustainability.”
Worldbex believes that it is the duty of each member of the industry to come up with bold new ideas and practices that are not only innovative but also, capable of addressing emergent issues. It is through this theme in which Worldbex reaffirms its commitment to mold a better future for the Philippine construction and design industry.
Bound to be the biggest convergence of the industry’s most influential players, Worldbex 2018 is expected to host 18 participating countries including Malaysia, United States, Indonesia, Australia, Turkey, Germany, Iran and Japan in its bid to strengthen the ties between the local and international sector.
Furthermore, Worldbex is gearing up to showcase another round of its much-anticipated event highlights which include the Architect’s Gallery, a hub that features the unique design perspectives and adaptations of the latest trends of the country’s leading practitioners.
Apart from allowing visitors a chance to avail of free consultations, the Architect’s Gallery will also feature the City of Tomorrow, an exhibit of futuristic scale models which embody the visions of various participating architects and design firms.
Another exciting component is the Worldbex Lab, an ex- hibit which will feature the latest and most outstanding product innovations available in the market. Also, not to be missed is the Interior Designers’ Gallery which will accommodate capsule creations by Filipino Interior Designers who are revolutionizing the industry through their expertise and artistry.
This year, the Interior Designers’ Gallery also benefits from the participation of Arch. Ed Calma and IDr. Lilia de Jesus, both of whom are new additions to the gallery’s roster of icons.
Taking pride in being a platform for emerging talents, head- lining this year’s Worldbex is a series of design-oriented student events and competitions.
Making its debut at this year’s Worldbex is Projeto Manila, a design competition that caters to the most promising sector of the industry—the students. Participants will be tasked to create a unique design that is climate-resilient and earthquake-resistant.
Meanwhile, set to make its much-anticipated comeback this year is Obra Maestra, an interior design exhibit which will showcase some of the best works of young and outstand- ing Interior Design students and their respective mentors, demonstrating the potential of the country’s youngest creatives and their capacity to contribute to the industry.
This year, Worldbex also turns the spotlight on landscape architecture as it presents this year’s DELAXX Competition. Co-presented with the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects and in collaboration with the University of the Philippines, DELAXX is expected to gather some of the most talented landscape designers for one challenging encounter.
Proving to be the ultimate B2B event for the construction and design community, trade show participants will also be delighted to know that Worldbex 2018 will once again offer its business matching services to assist participating companies and trade show visitors seeking to establish connections and investment opportunities.
